To install APK applications on your Android phone do the following:<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a quick tutorial for new Desire owners on how to install Android applications (.apk files) onto your HTC Desire:<\/p>\n

  1. Download\u00a0Astro File Manager<\/strong> from the\u00a0Market<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Connect your phone to computer in\u00a0disk drive<\/strong> mode (connect to\u00a0USB cable<\/strong>, select\u00a0Disk Drive<\/strong> from the options that appear on the phone, press\u00a0Done<\/strong>)<\/li>\n
  3. Copy the APK<\/strong> file to the SD card (anywhere you like)<\/li>\n
  4. Disconnect<\/strong> phone from computer (remembering to Safely Eject first)<\/li>\n
  5. Open\u00a0Astro<\/strong> and\u00a0browse to the file<\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. Select the file and choose the\u00a0Open App Manager<\/strong> option<\/li>\n
  7. Press the\u00a0Install<\/strong> button<\/li>\n
  8. If you get a message saying: \u201cInstall Blocked. For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in Android Market\u201d, go to\u00a0Settings<\/strong> >\u00a0Applications<\/strong> > check the box which saysUnknown Sources <\/strong> <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
